Hmm, pressing the Menu button while in the settings menu is the most common way to get to the hidden menu. There are some other methods for different (older) systems but I'm surprised the menu button does not work, you were in the settings menu I assume (the one with 4-1/71 in the top right corner)?

You could try pressing and holding the "Sel" button, or the Nav command knob instead of the Menu button.

Installed clean software V27 again. Got with the 10sec-menu-hit in the hidden files. Works perfectly now. Everything OK.

Yes, that should work. Make sure that the key is in the 'accessory' position (not in the position where the engine is running).

Not sure about that, you may have to have the car recoded by your dealer. Glad you have perspective working anyway!

MKIV doesn't load the OS CD
 

Ok, I desperately need help :mad:.

I downloaded the 27.1 version, burned TDK, Verbatims and what not.. at 1x, 4x, 20x... the result is the same. My MKIV dvd unit will doesn't do anything.

I pop the CD in and I watch the unit, I hear spinning it then quiet. The screen doesn't do anything, still says to insert a CD/DVD.

Any ideas? Am I doing anything wrong?

What software are you using, I had a problem with Alchohol 120% with some CD drives, it burnt the data but then failed to finish off the disk correctly so it looked blank.

Check to see whats on the disk when you put in in your PC.

I now use UltraISO and have had no such problems.

Upgrade sequence not starting
 

I used Nero, Alcohol, CloneCD... I can perfectly read the CD after it's burned on 3 different computers. It's just the MKIV doesn't seem to do anything.

Am I doing something wrong? Maybe the upgrade sequence I'm doing is wrong. Here it is:

- unlock the car :)
- put the key in position I (display reads Key in Ignition lock)
- I wait for NAV to load, I press Accept
- I go to the trunk, pop the DVD out and put the CD in
- in few secs I hear the DVD unit spinning then silence
- My Display still says "insert CD/DVD... etc"

How are you making the OS CD? You don't just copy the files to the CD, you have to use the image to "create" an exact duplicate of the original.
