I have two more questions. Nearly 1 year ago, I modified the splash-screen in the navboot-file (v27) with the GifExtractor.exe (as far as I remember). The navboot-file had the same size before and after modification. With UltraISO I changed the navboot-file in the ISO, burn the cd and the flashing of the new firmware works without any problem.

Now I take navtweak V2.6 and replaces the splash-screen with the same splash-screen I used it one year ago. But now the size of the navboot-file is bigger then the original. Is this correct?

Should I use UltraISO to modify the mdf-file or can I put all files with nero to a blank cd?

Many thanks!

Hi!

The last few days I did some experiments with the very nice tools NavTweak and NavSpeak.

I own an Opel DVD90 Navigation System which is also a Siemens VDO device for real and seems to be compatible to this tools.

I encountered some little problems:

1. When I open the file: "V_2\RR\0103\BMWOCN\app_sw\navboot" from the BMW v28 or v29.1 CD, On Colors-Tap, NavTweak says "No modules found", but there are the "rom_col_*" modules inside the file. Anyone else got this problem?

2. On the Opel Firmware Update CD, all the data modules are in the files "...\app_sw\usw_modules". I can open it with NavTweak, but only can edit the Strings and Fonts. On Images- and Colors- Tap, NavTweak says "No modules found", but there are the "romicons" and "rom_col_*" modules inside the file.

@nomad:
Maybe you can have a look at this?

This happens when modules stored in the format the NavTweak can't recognize.

So, what can I do now?

Is it possible to convert the format of that modules?

Will NavTweak support this format anytime in the future?

You need to edit 'sw_rel.tbl' file with hex-editor to force software upgrade.
Change first 4 bytes (SW version) from '0800' to '0801'.
To force voice upgrade edit 'lng_rel.tbl' file. Set first 4 bytes to '0801' then next 4 bytes (voice version) to '0507'.

Hi Nomad.
Do I only need to change the first line in the 'lng_rel.tbl' file since the second line is also containing the voice version?
