Difference is huge amounts of Christians openly speak out about against the KKK and rally to stop any actions they take...where as I have yet to see a HUGE Muslim protest against killing civilians...oh wait there was ONE in Jordan, that's it.
I wonder in what world you live in if you don't see any muslim group protesting against terrorism, turn off Fox news a little bit and try to get some unbiase infos . If you get out your comfort zone and and talk to people who live this intolerance everyday, the'll tell you how they feel about terrorism.
Not only Jordan but during my extensive travels around the world, I haven't met a single soul that would be in support of this!

Still didn't tell me how the comparison is valid. Be nice if I even watched Fox news, bang up assumption there.

True, every religion has that.

this has gotten to long for me to follow. all i will say is zero to your comment of a 50yr property dispute is that its a very childish thing to say. a property dispute that runs 50 years and costs thousands of lives is not quite a property dispute.

All I mean when I say that is that the religious differences are not the primary issue - they've just become a vehicle for all sides to advance their case. The settlements in the West Bank and Gaza, the occupation of Southern Lebanon, the occupation of the Sinai, the control of Jerusalem, the right of return - these are some of the primary issues. Muslims and Jews have coexisted for hundreds of years. Maimonides served as doctor in the court of Saladin, and Jews often were members in Muslim armies. The reason religion has become as involved is because many of the leaders in the dispute have realized its much easier to arouse the passions about God than it is to arouse passion about land. I should qualify that by saying that some religious concepts (aliyah, for example) have influenced attitudes. But by and large, this isn't a war fueled by "Muslims hate Jews" or "Jews hate Muslims," as many of us in the west like to think.

finally problem is someone has to realize that "hey i aint gonna get 72 big breasted virgins" someone in the mosqs or where ever the hell they go and shake like trees in the wind needs to say hey guys back to reality g-d didnt tell us to kill anyone, someone who people look up to needs to say hey this is wrong. problem is no one does, they have yet to release the soldiers. why? because no one from their own people said hey release the soldiers and this will stop. they dont dare because they support what they are doing hence why i group them all together. yes they have always coexisted but at this point its more of i want that land and i dont want them on it which is equivalent of they are jews in this case and we dont want them there. they are the western world they let women vote we dont want them there...

Exactly...this is indeed a land dispute, not a dispute of religions.

What annoys the hell out of me is I keep hearing all the news media say something to the effect that "trading land for peace has not worked well in the past".

That is absurd! Land for peace is the only thing that has actually resulted in peace. It was just stupid for the Israelis to think that if they gave land back to one neighbor, that it would make the other neighbors happy as well.

Twice Israel has made the "land for peace" trade.

1) In 1979, they gave land back to Egypt and Egypt agreed to recognize Israel and the two have had normal relations since and there has been no violence between those 2 countries since then.

2) In 1993 they gave land back to Jordan and Jordan agreed to recognize Israel. And again, those 2 countries have had normal relations since with no violence between them.

I don't hear them saying that Egypt and Jordan are supplying Hezbollah or Hamas with weapons. In fact, Egypt and Jordan are the only 2 Arab countries that Israel has not complained about in the past 10 years. So "land for peace" does indeed work. They just need to negotiate similar deals with Lebanon, Syria, and of course the Palestineans. Then there will be peace.

[quote=zero]Just out of curiosity, do you know how many Israeli citizens have been killed in the current conflict with Hizbollah? How many Lebanese civilians?

That's just because they (hezbollah) suck and can't obtain effective weapons. They live in the stone age with their degradation of women and lack of education. How can you even begin to compare the KKK to your extremist losers? Does the KKK go around the world and kill thousands of innocent civilians? Nope, didn't think so. Hey zero, why don't you stand up and condemn those who make your religion look bad? You afraid one of your extremist buddies will come & get ya???
