Racial profiling under any circumstances is NEVER a good thing in my opinion...unless of course you want to live in a socialist or fascist state...remember the man with the funny mustache named Hitler? This is coming from a registered Republican, Caucasian male. Just my .02

Sorry for the thread drift.....BUT...

What does racial profiling have to do with socialism? Or even fascism?

Yes, the worst fascist regime of the 20th century did indeed practice racism and genocide on a massive scale, but socialism and fascism as ideas have to do with government's tie to economics. They have nothing to do with racism and profiling.

Contrary to popular belief, fascism is not a man with a mustache.

Fascism has become such a popular word these days, I think most people using it have no idea what it really means. I think they simply think it means "evil".

And also, on the scale of economic systems, socialism and fascism are complete opposites. One is where a strong central government controls economics and distribution of wealth and resources. The other is where a very weak central government is a puppet to the large businesses and wealthy elite.

Ok....<rant over>....back to your regularly scheduled programming.....

Next time you flip out and get rude to the people trying to save your life, think about this next story. The bastards are willing to kill their own children to kill us.

Liquid explosives carried in child's baby bottle

14 August 2006: According to authorities at Scotland Yard, Abdula Ahmed ALI, 25, and his 23-year-old wife Cossor ALI were arrested and are being questioned over suspicions that they were planning to use their baby's bottle to hide a liquid bomb.
Cossor's grandfather, Nazir Ahmed, 84, admitted that Abdula ALI traveled to Pakistan about four weeks ago. That admission follows information from British Intelligence officials that many of the airline bomb plot suspects posed as relief workers to travel to al-Qaeda training camps in Pakistan. Police spent Sunday searching the suspect’s east London housing commission flat for evidence.

Police in the UK have recovered baby bottles containing peroxide, including some with false bottoms, from a recycling centre close to the homes of some of the arrested suspects.

In a separate but related case, a Muslim family of five- a husband, wife and 3 children, boarded American Airlines flight 109 at Britain’s Heathrow airport destined for Boston Logan airport on Sunday, 6 August 2006.

According to intelligence officials, the family checked in at the last minute, and as a result, only a superficial check of the children’s carry-on bags was conducted by airport security personnel.

Following the take off of the airliner, the check-in computer at the airport flashed a warning that a person under observation had boarded the flight. The airline staff informed immigration and security officials, and a background check found that the male adult member of the family was on a suspect list prepared by Scotland Yard subsequent to the 7/7 terror bombings in London. The pilot was ultimately alerted to the situation and after careful consideration, returned to Heathrow airport rather than continuing on to Boston.

Upon landing back at Heathrow, armed marshals boarded the aircraft and took the suspect and his family into custody. It was at that time a search of the children’s carry-on baggage revealed the deadly cargo.

A threat to one right is by it's own admission, a threat to them all.

People would likely describe me as an unabashed Neo Conservative, however, that being said Jefferson will always ring loudly in my ears.

The problem is not the inefficiency of one search method over another. It is the wholesale description of an entire population as a physical threat to your well being.

Like saying all black people would rob, loot and steal if given the chance. Or all Irishmen will get wildly drunk and beat on each other if you give them a room full of whiskey. Or all Italians are members of the Mafia. It's ludicrous and has very little to do with being politically correct.

That being said, do you think it would be natural for a student traveling from Dubai to have a bit more scrutiny than say an albino from Norway?

Absolutely, but I wouldn't attribute that to a racial basis.

Hmm... That's a pretty good idea. Better Yet; let's make all Muslims wear a nice fat YELLOW moon-crescent stuck on the chest, instead of an armband (since some people may not have arms to wear a band around, but hell, they can still be suspects. A bomb can be something that may fit in the smallest of cavities !).

It would also help if we make non-muslim friends-or-relatives of muslims wear BLUE-colored crescents on their chests.

For those who don't actually have muslim friends or relatives but have actually come in contact (either verbally or in writing) with a Muslim in the last 12 months, we could make them wear RED chest-crescents.

For those who simply LOOK like a muslim, we can dish out GREEN chest-crescents.

We should create a National Communications center that would automatically record every landline and mobile phone conversation in the "CIVILIZED" world; outsourcing 250.000 workers in INDIA to listen in and escalate all suspicious conversations to the NSA.

Then we could send in some consultants from Accenture to GUANTANAMO for a few months research, to build a replicability model that would allow the US Government to create local mini-Guantanamo at every major US Airport. Any crescent-chested suspect that dares speak up against the new regim... err.. Government Regulations while undergoing the designated standard full cavity search, will get an immediate indefinite pass to one of the new local GItmo centers.

Why don't ve just zave some time and rround up zome good'old varheads und Nuke all countries vis prredominantly muslim population?

Or maybe..... Juuuuuuuuuuuust mayyyybeee...

... we deal with the issues that CAUSE people to become terrorists in the first place.... Naaaaaaaahhh !! that's a REAL stupid idea that I'll probably be heavily bombarded for by many members of this Forum.

This thread is disgusting me, why don't we just kill em all too right? Lets go shove them into internment camps like the Jews or Japanese, we are that stupid and brainless right? Perhaps we'll kill em all and then teach about our shameful ways years from now in history class , we learn history for a f-in reason so we don't repeat it, yeah their are radicals as there are with every relgions (KKK,PRI,IRL or whatever they are), yeah some racial profiling in theory might work but where does it stop? I mean honestly, listen to what your saying! Making them wear a band, noone with half a shred of dignity would propose such a barbaric thing. How about Timothy Mcvei? Hes white and blew up a friggin federal building and oooh lets not forget the Irish fighting and pub bombings, they were def muslim right? WRONG
