Thanks to all of you for the well wishes! We will be together in Ukraine for a week the 30th of this month so we're counting down the days. We'll get a bunch of pictures and keep you posted!

I don't recall this mentioned: Does she speak English very well? Even if you speak fluent Russian, if she will be living in the USA, she will obviously need to learn English (or at least the variant they speak in Wisconsin). My son's best friend is Russian; his family came over 6 years ago. The dad speaks good English and gets along great. The mom is shy and has been reluctant to try speaking English in stores, etc, so she is still more reclusive, sticking to Russian friends and watching Russian movies.

I've been out of town and missed this thread.. Got to say, it's quite interesting.
I wish you the best of luck Dean.. Please though, do get a prenuptial agreement. Regardless if you are marrying an Amercian, a Russian, or a Swede. - A prenuptial agreement does not mean that if you get divorced, she gets nothing. Rather, it lays out the terms of your settlement while there is no "bad blood".

I wish you all the best, and I can confirm that what she says about Russian women I have personally observed in many cities there, especially Moscow. I did, however, sense much more independence in the women there than her letter to you would suggest, but that could just be the nature of the people I dealt with...
Moscow is one of the most beautiful cities I have had the chance to visit -- I hope you took some time to really see the real Moscow and not just the "tourist" sites... Good luck.
