Does this require taking the brake pads and rotors off? Apart from unbolting the control arm, what else needs to come out without going through the hassle of futzing around...

I did a few searches and find a part number (06A906461A) for the VW Jettas as a possible cheaper replacement for the X5 MAF. I am guessing this is for the X5 4.4 and not the 3.0. Is there a similar...

Perhaps you are not listening close enough....
Perhaps you are not listening close enough. Sometimes water or moisture will get into one of those sealed sensors and that would be end of that one. To hear the clicking, I used a metal screw driver...

Water pump gasket on X5 3.0 - 2001
I noticed that the new water pump I ordered did not come with a gasket but with an O-ring installed. On 4.4i model, the water pump comes with both. Is one not required for the 6 cylinder?
