Perhaps you are not listening close enough. Sometimes water or moisture will get into one of those sealed sensors and that would be end of that one. To hear the clicking, I used a metal screw driver...

I noticed that the new water pump I ordered did not come with a gasket but with an O-ring installed. On 4.4i model, the water pump comes with both. Is one not required for the 6 cylinder?

FYI for all,

Third party BMW service center reset the ECU using their software free and all is well. All codes gone and Transmission shifts fine now....took all of 5 minutes.

Swapped the Camshaft sensor in the E52 (Aug 2000 prod, 3.0) and I am wondering if the ECU needs to be remapped to the new sensor. Anyone?
