This happens from time to time, a defective part is discovered and the cars have to wait to get repaired. I recall the early 6er were on lots waiting for a part at one time.

Many oils are approved for BMW LL04 spec. If the oil has LL04 you are fine. Recommended oils are about marketing not specifications.

I have no idea, but fluid can cost up to 25 bucks a liter and I can get Dex 1 or 11 for a couple bucks at the local autoparts store. so thats different. The old 3hp and 4hp transmissions were great...
