We had a customer buy a new E70 with running...
We had a customer buy a new E70 with running boards and decide she would rather not have them a week later (tore her stockings or something to that affect), our new car department had me swap them...

I was guessing since you said it started and...
I was guessing since you said it started and idled normally but was response-less to the throttle. If it were a fuel issue it would cough/bog when trying to rev it. But nonetheless water leaks can...

Make sure you properly preload the control arm...
Make sure you properly preload the control arm bushings if/when you change them again. (and if you didn't do it the first time it could be the cause) Simply have the X5 sitting at ride height on it's...

Cops aren't supposed to use the computer while driving... they're supposed to stop, do what they gotta do, then go again. That's one of the reasons you often see them parked in random places. But...

I'd start by simply removing the interior door...
I'd start by simply removing the interior door sill trim and shoving your hand down under the carpet to see if it is actually wet under there. And you should also look up the threads on sunroof...

If you really want to make those aftermarket...
If you really want to make those aftermarket crappers work there is a 3rd option... get a good sharp pointy punch and peen the inside of the control arm every 1/4" or so all the way around on both...
