I know Brabus usually tunes the car after it leaves the factory, but this G55 is special straight from the Mercedes factory. My dealer wouldn't let me walk out the door unless I put a down payment on it because I had them print the specs for it. Yah right for $500k.

A stock G55 AMG is MSRP $120k with a 5.5L V8 supercharged engine with 500hp and 516 torque.
This one comes from the factory for $500k with a V12 Supercharged engine with 700+hp. I don't have the paper with the specs anymore but this is the stuff I remember.

And BTW, this is in Dubai. And it is stock from the Mercedes factory (My dealer said it 20 times, and I had them confirm it. If they are lying I don't know but I believe them). Takes a LONG time to come and I think the Sheikh here drives it, but his is more modified.

Not by a long shot...the Pepper is off-road equipped, no mention yet if X5 ///M will be capable. Also X5 ///M "lightweight" will make a considerable difference. Pepper Turbo S curb weight is 5192 lbs. I expect a performance difference when road test results are released :D

Remember, the X5 & X6 ///M performance will pioneer for future ///M technology.

The dealer was trying to make a sale. There is no such thing as a "stock Brabus tuned Benz". I used to own a Brabus tuned CLK 430...Brabus is after-market, plain & simple. It's no different than ordering a new X5 from a dealer who backs Dinan and having a supercharger installed. Doesn't make it stock anymore once after-market tuner gets their hands on the engine, even if it comes "straight from factory".

:iagree:
Why would MB put Brabus on something leaving their factory? Brabus names on it means if there are issues than you go to Brabus dealer.
Same goes for Dinan.

If this thing is faster than a m3/m5 and cayenne.. .I am all over it. I know it won't handle like the m3/m5 though. If not, then I think I may keep the 4.8is and pick up a slightly used M5 CPO.

Lateral acceleration:

2010 BMW X5 M - 1.5gs
2009 BMW M3 - 0.95gs
2008 BMW M5 - 0.88gs

Sooooo...what color will you be ordering? :D

I'm going to agree with StanF18.. Sort of..

My guess is 530hp. But it will probably be a low boost on those Bi-turbos. I'm guessing a chip will easily add another 70hp without too much strain on the OEM equipment.

Although, I'll keep mine stock..

Does anyone think the MSRP will be adjusted for the economic downturn?

nynd 03-07-2009 07:37 PM

MSRP's are never "adjusted" they just push incentives as they can't bounce an MSRP around when the conditions change.

I'm leaning towards highly unlikely...would be great though...but imo the X5 & X6 ///M were not inspired by brand pride or heritage but were mostly a business decision. That being said, ///M being the exclusive creme de la creme of the BMW brand will always have a premium price tag. Their target demo are probably hardly affected by the economic environment. I believe it will be priced in the same neighborhood as the ///M5.
