I wanted to report back. I gave in. Found a wrecked 06 this morning. Snagged the used module (25.00 ) Bluetooth works!!! Thanks for everyone's help. Turns out my module was dead.

I have some circuit board level ability. The unit obviously took on some water at some point and is non functional and I don't think I can fix it. Funny, the unit is actually manufactured in 2009, so this unit has already been replaced once. It is a BMW TCU1.5 IBUS US.
I have found numerous potential replacements on ebay but I'm not sure what is compatible. I am only interested in getting the bluetooth portion of whatever this does back functioning. My unit is this:
84.10 9195455-02
169211 15
MEX 06.07.2009 R.23.07.2009
BMW TCU1.5 IBUS US
SW:0A.09
BT:001C12CDECFB

I'm not sure what will work in it's place. If I understand correctly a MOST unit will not work, it must be IBUS? There lost of units that are described as Ibus TCU but show on their label BMW TCU1.5 MOST US. I have also found units that say BMW Everest IBUS US. Will that work? Some just say BMW Everest E60US.

Does GSM matter if I'm only looking to get Bluetooth connectivity?

Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Click the following link to see the units that are compatible and retrospectively exchangeable...they are listed by their BMW 11 digit part nbrs (that are compatible with BMW part # 84 10 9 195 455 you gave us) and the models they were used in: RealOEM.com - Part Search

I have a February 2004 X5.
I know my TCU module is dead.
Can I buy a newer TCU Module and get the Bluetooth
system to work?

Does the Bluetooth feature let you play songs from the iPhone?
