Bluetooth no-go

I've had my 2005 4.4 X5 for about 2 months and I just got around to pairing up the Bluetooth, but I can't get it to work. I've tried the routine pairing steps over and over and pulled the fuses for 15 mins, but still nothing. It's never once said "Activate Phone" either. I see the module bolted in the side of the trunk and plugged in, but nope. I'll buy a new module as a last resort, but hoping I don't have to.

Ok so I read a post or two that reccomended a photo of the module be uploaded so folks can help. Here goes:

The older bluetooth modules had a limit of (i believe) four different devices to be paired to it. If that is the case it can be cleared at a dealer or good BMW indie shop.

I found steps to clear all devices, and that didn't work. Basically nothing happens when I try any steps for anything. No beeps, no text on the radio or dash, nothing.....

So when you turn the ignition to position 1 (KL R) or position 2 (KL 15)...then within the next 2 minutes when you select search for bluetooth devices on your smartphone...your bmw doesn't appear on your smartphone' list? If it does it will say "bmw xxxxx " where x=the last 5 digits of your VIN.

If your bmw does appear, do you then select it on your smartphone, then enter the pass code 1557 based on the PK code on your BT module? Then once accepted do you turn the ignition off and wait 30 seconds?

Once you've waited 30 seconds...what do you do to determine if your phone has paired or not?

My phone has never detected any "bmw xxxxx ".. I tried those steps like +10 times.

Edit: I have a Samsung Galaxy S4.....I guess I'll try my wifes iPhone?

The bluetooth module needs to be cleared using a GT1 or similar device that can access it and clear the stored pairings. I think it is a max of 5. I hit the limit on mine within a year of installation.

Not the highjack, but on this subject: My bluetooth link worked fine, initially, but now won't recognize or pair to my phone - the indicator light on the radio now, rarely, flashes red, never green, otherwise nada. Is there a distinct fuse for the bluetooth module I should check?

I read the fuses for b/t and phone are #7 in the glovebox and #72 and #73 in the right rear trunk panel.

Would that be a dealer-only type of device? I'm not familiar.
