You don't splice into the Eonon loom - the iBus adapter connects to the Eonon via a USB port on the back of the H/U. You wire the three flying leads on the iBus adapter to the old MID unit (Power, Gnd and Data) and simply plug it in. :thumbup:

Possibly not but there's nothing to say you cannot remove the entire factory DSP system and install your own system from the ground up - H/U, amps speakers - heck, even speaker cables if you want... big job though! ;)

i was trying avoid rewiring the whole damn car.. I all guess i ll wait for bavsound amp to come out they said later this year they will have one out

Rewiring the whole car is not entirely necessary (factory cabling can be utilized, but will need to be spliced into). I am in the middle of a full DSP replacement myself. The problem you run into is needing A LOT of channels of amplification. I am up to 14 channels... on 3 amps. :wow: :yikes:

That harness in the video seems like a AVIN harness by the looks of the headunit connections. I am not sure what your Eonon harness looks like, maybe provide a picture. You will need a specific harness to connect to your Eonon headunit so if Eonon doesn't have it then you will need to wire your iBus adapter a different way than the video you provided.

so my ibus interface came in i plugged into usb and the flying leads i spliced into eonon harness as per video

downloaded the i buss app and no sound ....i tryied unlocking it and says can not commucate

I m Stuck and what to do.. i am prolly missing something totally simple

You need internet connectivity for the registration to work - use your smartphone hotspot or park close to a wi-fi location.

Then once the app is registered and running, check that it can communicate correctly with the iBus on the car before trying any sound stuff. Check the OBC functions first. This isn't magic - a number of steps have to be completed before this is gonna work.. ;)

what steps do i take i tried everything i think.

I should let someone who has actually done this answer your question but but what the heck...

Firstly, lets confirm you have wired the iBus adapter correctly. If not, it won't work - or can be destroyed.

On the iBus adapter, you'll have four wires but you only need to hook up three.

Red - +12v (connects to green wire on the BMW harness)
Brown - Ground (connects to black wire on the BMW harness)
White - iBus data (connects to yellow wire on the BMW harness)
