Hi there!!
My oem dsp system, the sound was bad.
When install android the was crap because that was all right and all left, I take out the subwoofer cable in that days.
Now with resler the sound is perfect!! Better than stock radio.
Maybe you need to set "start dsp when boot the radio" in the options.
I dont touch the sound cables, only plug as the eonon android manual

i adjusted the dsp settings now it sound fantastic.. the complete intall with jl audio 10 in with amp get put in later on with stealth box in cargo boot.. i can sit and wait for the bavsound dsp amp to come out to upgrade the door speakers.. fixing the bushing and cv axels too this month.. valve cover gaskets ..should be bone dry and ready for another 130k.. its really is a fun SAV

Great thread Prop

I'm an early Android adopter with the Eonon GA6166 that had a puny 1GB RAM PX3 SoM (System on Motherboard) with Android 5.0. I upgraded this unit to a more robust 4GB RAM PX5 SoM from WITSON on Ali Express.

I highly recommend that any Android head unit buyer not consider anything less than at least 2GB RAM. With basic apps running on my original 1GB system I was near 80% utilization of RAM and app response was very anemic.

My 4GB system is very snappy with however many apps I want to run.

Also, the iBus app and USB stick hardware is a must have IMHO to preserve and improve access to the OBC and offers minor coding functionality.

I would encourage anyone thinking of the upgrade to buy as much head unit as your budget allows and even stretch a little because a subsequent upgrade could mean dragging that long FAKRA cable from the spare tire all the way to the dash all over again :wow: , which is not a pleasant exercise.

You'll also greatly benefit from speaker upgrades with your new head unit and search will give you threads on great ideas from Xoutpost on successful speaker upgrade selections.

This looks great. I have 2002 4.6is with DSP - but it has the business radio and tape deck. Is this type of unit plug and play?

Whatever you choose will need the iBus adapter and app to control the DSP and BC values. Without the factory navigation your install will take about an hour if you are not running backup camera wiring.

PSA iBus app 2.1.3.1 released this morning and has some new options. Performance mode screen with gauges added to the menu and allows a second auto start app if needed. Some other fixes as well that helped mine.

Sweet! BTW, there's an option to switch back to IBus app after launching the other apps. I thought I read earlier in the thread that some folks would rather not have the IBus app stay up front. Unchecking that option leaves me looking at Waze on every start now. Do like

There has been an option to launch a separate app once the iBus app started and I have been using that to launch the radio to the front. I have asked the iBus team to allow the home screen or launcher app to be selectable to take me to the home screen, that's where ultimately I want to start from. The new app update now allows for a second app to be started as well.
