The actual radio is in the trunk that's why. The connector behind the screen is just for the screen and controls it has no speaker/amp wires on it.

Does anyone know how the Avin Avant-4 autosleep works in the settings/car/extra settings menu? I have mine set to auto sleep and the last 2 mornings I came out and the system was still in stand by mode and came up within seconds. (Nice but worried about battery draw)

I set it to 10 minutes and checked it and that worked as advertised, it did a full boot. What constitutes an autosleep function?

I think it either sleeps- which is how it's now set for 10 mins before it turns off, or the radio turns off completely. Like most of these, the function is the same across Android platforms.

FWIW, I have never had a battery drain issue with mine. I do change the settings when I take it for service or leave for more than a few days.

Thanks PH. So you are saying in autosleep mode is is always in standby? Does yours completely boot from off in the morning or come up in a second or 2?

I have mine set to 'AutoSleep' which basically means, "Wake up as soon as you see ignition." So it's fast every time.

The full boot was annoying to me. I did ask the folks at iBusApp.de about this. They said the draw is really low and provided an actual draw. I just don't recall what it is. I added it here in a thread somewhere.

In my experience, the support you get with one peripheral for one of these radios is about the same as you get with the radio itself. Support exists, but is largely irrelevant. With the exception of pre-sold support and convenience from the higher cost, US Based brands, you're basically on your own for technical issues.

I thought I read 8mA on the sleep mode. All the complaints I read about the boot time had me misunderstanding how the system operated. I was under the impression that the system always turned completely off after a couple of hours. I guess it's fine, I am still learning about the system. Thanks for the clarification. :thumbup:

So a question for everyone that is running an Android HU. I have already become bored with my factory Avin Avant-4 launcher. It is not flexible, not configurable and honestly a little dated. I want to customize my UI to something a little more current and have found 3 launchers that seem to be popular.

I know developers are building these and one that I would really like to see would be a clone of the latest BMW iDrive 10.25" units.
