interesting... has anyone else tried this?? does this apply for all year E53 X5?

i too hate this. I live in AZ so during the summer it is fine because I want to almsot always use A/C, but many times the rest of the year I want to roll with wind and it sucks to have to explicitly turn climate off :( I think the Germans like to think for us much like Microsoft does.

Simply turn the key to position 2. Hold the accelerator to the click point for 25 seconds. Let go of the accelerator, start the engine and off you go...

The transmission's learning algorithm will be reset to 0. Therefore, it will lose the slow and gentle acceleration that the previous owner used...

Try it, and repost your results :) I guarantee your experience will be very different...

Ok...I tried this tonight. I "think" it worked, but it may have just been my imagination. :rofl:

My brakes did feel a lot touchier, though. :confused:

I did it too. Not sure if it's me or not but I does feel different...

Accel pedal all the way down..it forces a kick-down to the lowest possible gear.

Does this radio feature (with the vehicle turned off) work with NAV? I tried it and no love. Anybody else have any luck? I even tried holding the power button in for a few seconds - but nada.

If you open the driver's door with the right rhythm/momentum and climb in quickly, the door will magically swing shut most of the time (on level ground of course). I have great fun trying this every time.

Most annoying feature? Only the driver's door is unlocked... you click the trunk release and get out of car. A vacuum is created when you open the door, it sucks the tailgate into a locked position and you can't open it. I invariably have to climb back in and push the button again. A few hundred more times and I'll remember to push the release after I open the door. :)

If you open the trunk from the inside console button, and then get out of your X and close your driver's door - there is a 84.73% chance that the force of your driver's door closing with 're-latch' the trunk locking mechanism. Which is a total PITA if you didn't already have the doors in the "unlocked" mode, since you will be unable to unlock the tailgate from the rear button, but must either reopen the trunk from the console button or unlock all of the doors from the "central locking" button. Grrrrr!!! :confused:
