In your back and forth emailing could you ask them if they have found a way around the DSP amp/stereo system most of us OEM Sat/Nav guys have. And will it be truly plug and play with all that.

I don't have not ordered yet.
But the website lays out the unit specs in a good way.

Yes you have to order by phone if you are not in England.
But I have been assured the unit will and does work for US head unit replacements. And the unit is fully plug and play.

here is the link to the website...very informative.

How did you keep the BC features?

I moved the MID in the glove box. Check the DIY at:

Check the Hualingan on youtube. Most of the videos are for e46 but it is the same unit in a different shape for e39,e53. Mine on X5 works the same.

SkidmarkX5 here is very excited to learn of this; I have the Y2K version (really, mfg date 01/2000) so I have the 4:3 screen & the POS stereo. The only thing wrong with my X5 is the stereo. Please do follow-through on this. Its gotta be audiophile compatible. WIll be watching...

Florin, when you moved the MID in the glove box, you still connected the 12V power radio harness (switch/unswith), ground and memories wires from the original power supply?
Did you connect the new GPS unit into the same original radio harness or you have to run separately harnes/fuse for this?

Thanks/

Hi Guys! May I request someone who has the Hualingan to post a picture of the iPod interface please. I have searched YouTube and all of the Hualingan websites and Googled hundreds of reviews but could not find a photo of what the iPod interface looks like on the Hualingan unit. Does it show Artist, Playlists, Song, Album selections, etc. on the screen??

***************************************

Found a Chinese version of the iPod interface. I hope you can post an English version and screenshots of playlists, artist, album search functions...

To me that one looks exactly like the Hualingan. I did successfully install a Hualingan unit yesterday on a DSP X5. It was a bit of a challenge but it's done now. I kept the DSP and the BC features. I hope I can finish the DIY tomorrow. I love it. It is an awesome unit.

I'm just planning on plugging in the MID "IF" I need to set the time and things exclusive to the MID. Please post DIY pictures of how you moved the MID to the glove box. The wires to the side of the MID is my issue on how to extend that to the glove box unit.
