for sure I am too. I don't know what the lead time is on something like this, but if mass production starts in mid-sept then it may be Q1 2011 when they are available. Their marketing team may want to consider a "coming soon" section on that website to drum up anticipation.

It looks very nice, but who's the manufacturer?

I think these guys - ...dynavin.cooooooommmmmmm

My "TEMPORARY" solution has been to use the new 7" Magellan GPS unit, it works well but the mounting is not so easy on the eyes a bit crude but "TEMPORARY". I used Velcro to attach it on the dash. I look forward to an aftermarket unit that looks like its a BMW unit.
http://lh6.ggpht.com/_R1JLtqAJkEI/TF...00728-1144.jpg My 2010 335i has an excellent factory BMW GPS, 10" diag. and works and looks great. I'm looking forward to unit specifically made for the E53, here's the DYNAVIN web site Dynavin |
I also emailed them about the system for e53, here is the reply:
"Sorry that only BMW E46 Navi unit available now. We got feedback from our development DEPT that our BMW Navi does not support OBC function because the OBC development failed. Really sorry. The stock is also delayed , so we can not be sure the stock date now . regards " I have seen numerous ebay ads of this system for e53 and asked verdors a few questions, they all responded like "no prob at all, it works perfect. pay us and you will get it soon.", but none could provide a real picture. hope this doesn't become a scam |
I think the other ones are fishy, but I trust Dynavin. If the Dynavin unit does not support OBC functions it makes no difference to me since my head unit is the bare bones version w/o OBC.

Does anyone know if it will display the on-board computer info? Not that it is that important because I have not had it for about 6 months, but it is nice! OPs, sorry I read a bit further after making this post. Thanks guys.
