I’ve always wanted these, but my rotors are still in spec.

I’ve been waiting for years! LoL..

Holy markup, batman! Those are just cheap centric rotors with slots cut in them.

Edit: Nothing wrong with cheap Centric rotors. But I wouldn't pay $300-400 per axle just to get the slots - price compare to Centric High Carbon at Rockauto.

I'm running the Pagid coated high carbon rotors.

:bustingup

I thought the same thing! I only used this link because, it had clear photos.

Good rotors though!

Honestly, not really. They're $50-80 rotors with slots. I actually have a set off my E36 in the basement. Also, the Centric coating sucks.

I don’t know of another slotted only, OE rotor for an E53.

Do you?

I'd argue that slots make the rotor worse in a street application.

I don't know if anyone besides Centric/Stoptech makes a slotted only rotor, but I wouldn't spend a penny extra to get slots.

I definitely wouldn’t pay what that site is asking for, I’ll tell you that!

I’ve seen them for $425 usd for all for corners. And with some Hawk HP Plus pads, they’ll stop an E53.

In my opinion, great setup for a heavier vehicle.

None that I know of. I tried Stoptech slotted, drilled rotors once. Got rid of them as they were very noisy.

The slotted rotors with the Hawk HP pads will definitely generate some noise. But on my X, I doubt you will hear it. LoL..

I’ve never been a fan of the drilled/slotted combo rotors.

Have you ever used a set of Hawk HP+ pads? I don't believe that there is another pad out there that makes that level of brake squeal. I say this as someone who has street driven at least a dozen different track pad compounds.

If you have even the slightest bit of brake drag, they'll squeal when you're off the brakes as well as on them.

I've used many sets of HP+, and currently have a set in the E30 M3 (with Massive 300mm Rallye BBK all around). They are the absolute ultimate street pad. It's important to note, though, that they have a cliff-like fade curve at a relatively low temperature. Exceed their temperature limits and you go from awesome to nothing with little to no warning.

I agree that you won't hear the slots. But that's because it'll be completely overwhelmed by the squeal. If you goop the crap out of them with disc brake quiet, you can get the shrieking down to, uh, normal track pad levels.
