Ever since my wife was allowed (by some idiot?) to fill up two bays of the three-car garage/outbuilding with her junk (while replacing the house), I never got to reclaim my workspace. Toolboxes, toolbenches, even my bench vise are out of reach, as is the 220v outlet for the welder. Something always comes up to prevent me from rectifying the situation.

At least my homebuilt squareback (semi-offroad) trailer never lost its' bay, so I can sometimes work on it, while on concrete; otherwise, all the other stuff sits outside, uncovered, and I must use 3/4" plywood sheets in lieu of concrete, and perhaps an Ezy-Up to shelter the outdoor workspace from sun & rain.

I no longer can work nearly as easily as I could, due to deteriorating conditions of both the workspace and the shadetree mechanic typing this....

I'm largely happy working on stands, but it really takes a creeper on smooth concrete.

Following in suit. Front end refresh with axles, excluding struts, rear end refresh excluding shocks and LCA's.

FINALLY did the transmission service. Damn near nothing on the magnets! Oil changed at 6k mile interval.

New Conti DWS 06 + all around!

Next go round will be front guibo, replace leaky PS lines and faulty A/C compressor. Can't wait!

Noticed rear subframe mounts had some cracks. How are we checking to know if they need replaced? :dunno:

might just be the fusable link under the pully if the clutch isnt engaging?
its not fun to fix, but can be done without pulling it out or opening the AC lines.
there is a thread on here someplace

If you have a rear clunk on acceleration, they need to be replaced desperately. If they have more than 80k, they're badly worn and should be replaced.

Twice that! Alright. Added to the list!

And, I don't get a clunk at all, but they do not look pretty.

It works, but you have to rev it to 3.5k to get it to engage. I don't like having to do that. It will kick on eventually, but when it's 100 outside, I want it on NOW!

Thanks for the suggestion, though!

well, fusable link is not your problem if it works at higher revs

If cracks visible they are shot.

Usually you can see that the bushing is no longer centered in the frame and when. You have the weight off the suspension you can move around with a crowbar.

Sounds like you have a failing variable AC. Very common issue.

I've read there is a way to lock the thing into one position so it keeps working just less efficient. It could get you another season or two before ultimate death.
