Learned the MKIV DVD navigation drive does not like DVD-R disks
Updated my MKIV DVD navigation computer with the V32 firmware and replaced the BMW 2004 map disk with my own disk I burnt with the 2015 map data but the navigation system would return intermittent errors about unable to read the map disk about 30% of the time. Tried Verbatim DVD-R, Magnavox DVD-R and Memorex DVD-R all causing read issues. Thought my MKIV DVD lens was on its way out...
I then decided to try a Memorex DVD+R disk and works like a charm! Have rebooted the navigation system many times and no disk errors are seen. Have never experienced a DVD drive favoring one format over the other (DVD-R vs. DVD+R) until now... |

New water pump and radiator, as well as the requisite coolant flush. All the other wear items in the cooling system had been replaced and the wp was leaking by the smaller of the two tubes that slide into it...
The N62 is so easy to work on with the electric fan. Old radiator had 100k on it and had a lot of crap between it and the condenser. |

^Nice work.
I have used those LED bulbs in the past. Let me know if you get flickering. I bought a different kit for my "new" X5 and it does not flicker at all. It's not quite as bright, but that's fine as the flicker was killing my OCD. |

Oil change with a mix of M1 0W-40 and Rotella T6. And I also used the extra filter from my 328i. This "spare parts" car is still kicking after 128k miles.
