200K
My 03 just turned 200K, just finished putting in new master cylinder and brake booster. what a hassle and all day event, near impossible to get brake booster out with limited room, but hey, overall, been pretty cheap ride. No oil consumption at all, very little valve cover leakage between oil changes, have to clean out oil from spark plug holes every six months and been like that for several years. Found a better way to deal with seepage, I put super absorbent paper in spark plug holes, no more need to clean out spark plugs, just pull out paper and replace, easier than changing valve cover gaskets for those who are tired of dumping more money into X5.lol

Hi. When you say "coded" for led lights, what does that technically mean? Thanks I'm a newbie just got my first 2002 e53 x5 5sPeed manual.

anyone over 300k miles in a 4.6is? |
Checking in after a long time away. I started a commute that is 100-mi round trip, and already put 10k miles on my 4 month old diesel Colorado. To take some miles off of it, I'm gonna start driving the X5 again. 158k today, and hoping to do about 1500 miles per month with it without any breakdowns.

Rolled over 100,000 on Sunday last.

Rolled 355,000 miles last Thursday on a weekend trip from Arlington to Lake Ouachita. The X5 delivered 23.7 mpg over the 700 mile weekend and only used (seeped) a half quart of oil. But that's what keeps the rust off the chassis, right. Just wish I could get the idle to be smooth again when it's below 75 degrees outside. A new MAF didn't help.

No BC, it doesn't go away. It begins about 60 seconds after starting the engine. The intake system passed a smoke test last summer when all new coils and plugs were installed along with a new fuel filter. CCV system was checked too. MAF seemed the most likely culprit because of the ambient air temperature sensitivity, but now I'm leaning towards the idle control valve. I'll pull it this weekend for inspection.
