Does the hatch go all the way up in the -7F weather? I have new struts that I installed in the summer and works well on all occasions except on the daily today with the weather here in Texas of 23 degrees she only opens half way.

Can anyone tell me the
Length of springs
Outside diameter of springs
Inside diameter of springs
And if possible load rating
Here in the U.K. Die springs are colour coded
Green light load
Blue medium load
Yellow heavy load

Any help would be appreciated
Cheers !

Springs just pop the hatch open enough for struts to do the rest of the lifting. I replaced struts when I added the springs. I bought what someone here recommended. Might try searching hatch springs. They are blue, could be coincidence, 3 and 3/8s long and inside diameter just fits over shaft. Been in place for a few years, work great though we don't experience much weather below freezing.

This opens and closes! Looks almost factory with the button on the inside trim?

How did tjey install the motor?

Love the factory fit look but god know how it was done & cost.

Will stick with the spring option, just need to sort out spring type I.e. Light or medium load springs.

Bought some light weight (green springs) from Cromwell Tools £4.12 a pair. Took 5 mins to fit and well chuffed

Just installed the EBay springs. The best $30 spent on the X5 ever! Man, do these springs make a difference.

If anyone needs a set I purchased some for my buddy who sold his X before we got them on. $25 shipped and you don’t have to wait for overseas delivery.

They are a great upgrade. Mine are still working well after several years.
