I just did this install and didn't get bit once by a mosquito! that's how fast you can do this install... and I did the passenger side TWICE just to double check.
|
just seen this thread today and ordered these springs for a couple of reasons 1 for unlocking the hatch so it doesn`t lock back up on ya and 2 ,hopefully stop some hatch rattling.
|
I ordered and just installed my set. I can't believe how much of an improvement in ownership satisfaction such a small investment could make!
|
^ how long did it take to get them?
also what kind of improvements did you get? |

I never had the rattle in the rear but what others said: the ownership experience just got a whole lot sweeter. |
^ nice ,when I get mine I`ll update my experience with them.
|
I like that now when I close the lid, I can push down on it from open and it doesn't slam down with force enough to break the glass... It's a nice solid closure now.
|
I just used black zip ties to hold the springs in place and cut the excess close to the lock. Looks like they belong there.

Found a problem with these springs.
I installed them last night and I must have accidentally pushed the trunk button on the fob. As we all know, the tail gate will open. It's a good thing I went out a little later to find it open.... and a cat deciding if it was going to defecate or sleep in the trunk; I wasn't sure and neither was it since both of us practically shitted ourselves not expecting either to be there. So yeah, just make sure you don't press the button in your pocket or hands or whatever. You never know what you might end up with. |
^ lol, thanks for the warning.
