To do this, simply hold down the unlock button on your remote. After 3-5 seconds the windows will start to roll down along with the moonroof (front first, then rear). Nice feature to have when you are walking up to your car on a hot day.

The flip side of this is closing all windows with the key. To do this, you need to insert the key into your driver's door lock and turn and hold in the lock position.
You do know you can also roll up all 4 windows, close the moonroof and the louver, by pressing and holding down the lock button on the key, right?

that's a shame. 'Cause I do find the lock function more useful than the unlock one..

on the other hand, my 2006 X5 doesn't know what a glovebox flashlight is; I guess they're not fitted here..

you don't want to be closing the windows from far away because of safety reasons. you may not see that someone's head is in the way, someone may have thrown a bomb in, ummmm....that kind of stuff

Sorry i came a bit late to the thread.

One tip i didn't see posted is if you press for 3 (5?) secs on the trunk open button the alarm sounds (ie panic button) don't really know if that also cuts the engine, probably not for saftey reasons.

crosvs: to upshift with no clutch, its even easier than downshift.
first WITH CLUTCH :
1) Go at the desired RPM to upshit say 6.5k
2) upshift as fast as you can and note the resulting RPMs. Say 3.5K

Without Clutch:
1) Accel till 6.5K are reached on that same gear (2nd or 3rd usually)
2) ease up on the gas, gearshift "releases" shift to to neutral
3) move gearshift to next gear pushing against it VERY SLIGHTLY (no grinding sound should be heard if done properly. NEVER "push it in")
4) accel to 3.5k or a bit below that (the longer you take the lower the RPMS should be)
5) gear should automagically engage.

Do this a few times and you'll get the feel of the engine's sound so in a while you should be able to do this without looking at the revs.

With the rear wiper actived and the car in reverse, the wiper will pass constantly versus the usual intermittent setting.

i just hate how i can't fit two cups from burger king in there. it turns into a brawl between me and the passenger over who gets to put their cup in.
