Great way to store skis without ruining your upholstery!! Has anyone seen any other vehicle with this option??

Being that you are in IL, if you send me your spare key and address I can make your X5 disappear.

Kidding, good post though, I didnt know about the sliding armrest either!

I have a few (they might be part of the manual already..I did not RTFM)

1. Hit the high beam with the car not running and no key in ignition before locking the car. The xenons switch on for a few seconds (30 secs I think) to illuminate the path ahead (pathway lighting?) Good if you have a longish walk to the gate/house and need extra light

2. Same as above but turn the indicator stalk left or right for dimmed parking light. Good if you want to park on the side street. I use this a lot.

3. Keep the DSC button pressed for 30 seconds or so. It will blink and then finally turn off. I know it does something but can't remember what.

4. If you have disconnected the battery and on reconnection, the instrument cluster lights up like a Christmas tree, start the X, and move the steering wheel all the way to the left, wait 2 seconds and then all the way to the right. That does reset most of the lights.

5. One can disable the motion-sensor in the X (you know there is one there right?) by locking the car one more time once you have hit the lock button on the remote. That, I think, also turns off the little red light under the rear-view mirror as well.

If you "blip" the gas a bit (not floor it) it will downshift for you, especially in sport mode...
