Exclamation

BMW updated it's pricing for Extended Maintenance effective 7/1/2009. As expected all prices went up. Attached is SIB 010307 which discusses the program in detail and outlines all the costs for vehicles between 2004 and 2010.

Apparently Mr. Ryan Lee is handling it now (478-757-7000) at BMW of Macon. I have also updated the contact info in post #70 (on page 7 of this thread).

For more information on the program and what is included see here: BMW North America

Hey everyone, been watching the site for a bit now, just purchased a pre-owned 06 X5. I have been searching and searching for a warranty. Does anyone have the COST on the BMW Ext Warrantys? This is the pricing I have from the dealership (veh has 33k and another 9 months left on the factory warranty):

BMW EVP GOLD 84 Months/ 70,000 miles = $4,120
BMW EVP GOLD 84 Months/ 100,000 miles = $4,770

Aftermarket would be the other alternative, however, I think the $1,000 difference is worth having the BMW coverage. Especially after researching all these aftermarket warranty companies online and with the BBB...Not So Good...

The Finance Manager told me she didn't have enough room to move, maybe $50 discount on either plan...Anyone know exactly where dealers stand? I found the MSRP sheets on sbautogroup but that's all I can find.

Thanks Everyone!!!

Johnny

Johnny,

Boy I'd jump at the price and the peace of mind that it's BMW coverage. While my 3rd party has paid, the hoops to jump through to get repairs is a bit tiresome. But consider just one repair, like the mechatronic module I had replaced at $4,200 last month and you see the benefit. I think that with a V8 X5 it definitely makes sense. I bought my I6 3.0 without warranty and it had only minor issues - my experience but certainly not everyone's.

I now have a failing water pump and once again the warranty company wants my car inspected before they will approve the repair. Which has delayed it a week. With temps that had been in the minus 3 and plus 3 range it worried me it might fail and I need my car. Repair day tomorrow thankfully.

You didn't mention which engine your car has?? But nonetheless enjoy! It's a great car!

I just called another dealership right over the NH border and they knocked the price down to $4,430 for the BMW EVP GOLD 84 Months/ 100,000 miles. It's still about $1k or even closer to $2k higher than some aftermarkets. I called fidelity, but they said I would have to go through a dealer and there's only a honda dealer in the area that sells them. They quoted me $2,900 for the Platinum Fidelity Warranty 5 year 60,000 miles warranty. He is checking to see if he can do the 6 year 60,000 for the same price. Zero deductable.

The X5 is a 3.0 without NAV or any of the fancy doodads...lol...just heated front seats.

Any input would be great.

Thanks again everyone,
Johnny

Fidelity is a good company... I have an Audi Pure Platinum on my S4 and it is backed by Fidelity. No problems, covers everything including seals and gaskets. I got it through FD-Warranty.com and Troy was $900 cheaper than the local dealers. Try him to see what he can come up with.

Just filled out the form for him. He's even local to me (in MA). I'll post up the #'s. I'm leaning towards the Fidelity due to the cost vs. coverage & time. I'd like to keep this thing longer than 4 years possibly...With the BMW warranty, in 3.5 years from today I'd be forced to sell it before the warranty is up...(which by then who knows, I might want to get an updated one, but then again, might not)...We still have our last car, bought in 2001 new...

Fidelity tried to screw me with my "VW Platinum" whatever Touareg. They sent out an adjuster when they finally had to pay out when the A/C broke on it at 72k and then when the suspension system bit the dust after trying to deny the claims.

I'm battling with dealers trying to get extended maintenance for my E53. "Prices cant budge" my ass, I got it for $100 over cost on my E90. Anyone know a guy?
