I have had my 06 4.8is since 06/2008 and love it. Absolutely no issues so far. I bought it for $38K with 18K miles from a smaller non BMW dealer, it was a lease return and in new condition. At the time the BMW dealers were selling certified 06's for $46K. You will love the 4.8is, better than any car I have driven in terms of handling. I have an MB 01 E430 Sport and haven't driven it since I bought the 4.8is.

Mine has all the options except the sliding floor and hitch. It had the running boards and bluetooth as well. Also the folding side mirrors.

Good Luck.

After reading through the thread what does everyone think about the price they are asking?

$38500 out the door... Includes Tax, Tag and Title...

40k miles

CPO for the next 60k miles or until 11/05/2011

Or should I walk and look for another...

I meant that to go to the post that listed options on the 4.8is.

Sounds like it's a nice X though, I'm sure you'll love it.

I can't remember if it has power folding mirrors...

I do know that when I put it in reverse the passenger mirror turned down... Very cool... The people in the MINI community has been working on a module to do that to our cars...

Very nice... I'm sure that is standard...

Is that a good deal though... I will be paying cash so I don't want to get the short end of the stick...

Either can I! Do a search here for "Intravee II" or "Dice".

$38k out the door CPO'd with 40k sounds like a fair deal to me at this point in time. Not sure anybody else has mentioned it, but X5's with full air suspension could have issues. I have had my entire suspension system replaced under the CPO warranty. Many other members here have had the dreaded "selflevel susp. inact" error - do a search on this also. You need to know about this before you buy, just my .02.

The 4.8is has standard power folding mirrors and if you don't want it to do the curb view tilt thing just slide the left - right mirror switch on the door to the opposite position it's on now.

Without seeing the car in person it seems like a decent deal. How much is it before tax, just the selling price? I think you said $38500 out the door but before tax what is it?

There should be a small square button next to your window switches on the drivers side door. Funny thing is I found out a couple of weeks after buying my car what that switch does.

I also installed the Intravee since I had a Alpine KCA adapter laying around, it works great. I added the subwoofer kit from bavarian soundwerks and it has made a huge difference.

Say... $34k....ish Maybe $35k

We haven't sat down and filled out paperwork.... That is the price they gave me. The salesguy I am working with is a Retired cop that has worked there for 3 months... I am a cop in the area and it seem like it is a good deal for what that x5 is...

But, the cop in me is a little hesident when it comes to good deals...

I am expecting to get screwed somehow... I hate to be that way but I guess it just comes natural... That is why I am making my wife wait a week before we buy it...

I am really new to BMWs so I don't know what to look for. Which are good options and what I should stay away from... If it was a MINI... I'm good... I know all the little things about them... But an x5... That is why I am here... Talking to the real experts... That wont BS me...

Thanks again for all the imput...
