I have heard that it will go through tires like crazy... About 15k miles a set...

I looked on line and it looks like about $1600 to replace a set...

How is the tire wear for everyone? This being a little heaver and more agressive will wear tire faster I think...

We aren't too concerned with the MPGs. My wife has a Jeep now and is getting about 16-17 MPGs now...

Best reason to buy a BMW/Mini!!
Ask him to find out from his buddies still at the $tealership, what kind of common problems they see so he will know what to look for.
I'm assuming that out of CPO stuff he is going to do for you, so when it comes to warranty work, let him deal with SA's for you.

My 4.8is had 22,000 miles when I sold it, the fronts basically still looked new and the rears were starting to wear. Probably would've got around 30K for the rears. I always drive easy.

Onlinetires.com seemed to have the best price for the factory Michelin Diamaris at around $318-339 (fronts-rears) a piece. Sometimes they offer free shipping or 1/2 off shipping.

My life time mileage was 17.9 with 70% or more city driving. The computer seemed to be accurate when checked manually.

Loved everything about our 4.8is.

The only OPTIONS were:

Navigation
Sliding load floor
Heated steering wheel
comfort or sport seats (no cost)
and of course color/trim

Bluetooth, Sirius, Hitch, Running boards and Aux input are all accessories from the parts counter that are dealer installed.

What is the difference between Confort and Sport seats? I haven't seen photos of each yet...

What is the sliding load floor?

This x5 has Bluetooth, Sirius and the Towing Hitch. I'm not sure if it has the Aux port... We really need that... I can't live without my iPod...

Sport seats have larger bolsters, comfort seats have articulating backrest. Easily distinguished - the comfort seats 'shoulders' and headrests are squared off while the sport seats are rounded. Sport seats also have an extendable thigh support.

Sliding load floor is basically a big tray that slides in and out so you don't have to reach IN the trunk to get things. Only useful if you are under 5' tall IMO!

Aux port is about $40 and easily retrofitted.
