What they provide is a VM image of DIS V43, so it can't be installed on a machine running a generic SCO if that's what you are trying to do.

Jose, how is your VM DIS v55 running compared to v43, speed wise and stability wise?

I'm pretty sure the later DIS versions are more voltage sensitive on purpose - because of the newer BMW models I guess. Once we get SSS v32 running I bet you're most likley going to need some kind of battery charger to do ANY encoding/programming. I could be wrong of course. I ordered a battery charger that has a power supply mode. More on that later. If you do get a charger, I recommend getting one with a power supply mode - especially if you're going to try to use this on the newer BMWs. Some, I forgot which models, it is MANDATORY to run a charger in PS mode. Also, it did run slower than my T30 but my wifes Dell isn't exactly a barn burner either. It has a touch pad with buttons and noticed the pointer got erratic whenever I tried to use both. So using the touchpad to navigate and tap for selection instead of buttons for selection. The display on the laptop also couldn't display the whole DIS screen. I'm pretty sure its probably because of the DELLs 12" screen and resolution. Last edited by TwinsPoppa; 04-01-2009 at 06:51 PM. |
