This price is still too dear for me as it works out about the same landed as what I can buy one here for.

So I'm still looking. Rogerkiu, what battery charger/power supply are you using?
I suggest you consider Ctek XS25000, it only costs around US$400. I just tried Ctek XS7000 for coding my 120i and found that 7 amp max current was not enough for even such small car (maybe Japanese car is enough, I guess). It could only stably provide 12.1v to the car due to overload (it should had provided 13.6v in normal situation in supply mode, according to the user manual), and went to protection mode after about 10 minutes, which meant it stopped working. 12.1v was not enough to make SSS to run and code vehicle. I guess my 120i consumes around 10 amp to 15 amp in ignition-on mode, x5 may consume 15 amp to 20 amp, so I will turn to XS25000 model which can provides max 25 amp in supply mode at stable 13.6v.

One more thing, the whole procedure I mentioned above to finish coding my 120i's angle sensor (including encoding the DSC module) was done with running engine yesterday without any problem (because the Ctek XS7000 could not provide 13.6v power to the car). So I can say that all control modules, except DME/DDE, can be programmed/encoded with running engine. To connect the car to a power supply is just a safe way to do it. I did encoding my IHKA (climate control A/C module), CDC retrofitting, VM retrofitting by this way before. However, I will do it with power supply connected in the future anyway.

Now My 120i runs extremely well! What you guys say?

Weasel will become famous soon enough
I am honestly surprised you were able to do the coding with the engine running... but wouldn't count on that working for all but the DME as other modules like the EGS would be directly affected by engine speed/hydrolic pressures etc.

Totally agree! I will do it only with power supply connected in the future.

I believe it is made in China, not in Hong Kong. No guarantee on quality. If it is cheap, you may have a try. Besides, it does not provide any spec on this product.

According to the spec, I think it works. But no idea on the quality.

Just remember guys. The one that was originally asked about from ebay (same as what I have but built to my specs) is 40amps and only cost $275 to US with shipping.

NBTBRV8: Since you're already in Australia then your shipping will be a lot less.

Not sure what you're still looking for. This one has pretty much what you need:

Selectable function for 12V / 40A Power supply or 5 Stage battery charger
Built in 4 digit LED volt meter indicate battery voltage
3 x LED indicate charging mode, ( Boost , Float , Absorption )
Reverse polarity protection
Over load protection
Fan cooled
2 Tone gray / black aluminum casing
Size L260mm x W 115mm H 110mm
Power On/Off switch
Fused IEC power input socket with 1.2m power cable
Weight app 3 kgs
One year workshop warranty. ( condition apply )

What specific feature are you looking for?

Agree! Or you may consider Ctek XS 25000 model if you are in 240v area. Price is about same to the one that was orignally asked.
