Did the sound improve/change?

Believe it or not tips to change the sound a little bit.

Especially a resonated tip vs none.

No sound change Mr. R. It was just for aesthetics purposes only. 3.0L had the "ED syndrome" tips.

What did you do to / for your E53 today??

Replaced PS Pump, new (used pump) still makes noise. A different noise though. The screeching is gone at full lock but the moan is still present and slightly more pronounced. It's the typical PS whine/moan as you turn the wheel while not in motion.

Also pulled the AC belt off to see if the noise I was hearing was the pulley bearing but free spinning it by hand it felt smooth and no noise whatsoever. Then I looked at the belt and had some bits of the rib missing. Never seen belt damage of this kind and wondering what could cause it?! Maybe this belt was the one making noise?

I think these trucks sound better with the factory resonator and deleted mufflers than with mufflers and deleted/swapped resonator. But as you say, sound is subjective.

Having said that my cutouts bypass the resonators and go into the Dinan mufflers only. Love the sound. Though I'm sure I'm losing some HP doing it that way.

I heard a video on FB with a 4.4 with a resonated X pipe, from magnaflow iirc. Sounded really good. The guy said he time was still deep. I think I may go that route.

Nice, I thought about yours and wondered how it sounded. I sent a video of mine in and the tech said, send it in. Just filled out the email form and packed the unit, waiting on the RMA number so I can get it shipped, tomorrow hopefully.

In other useful information, if I haven't mentioned it - they do not advise running superchargers in below freezing temps. I think that contributed to mine sounding like it did, or maybe just 17 years of spinning. It was garaged, but it gets bone cold out in Montana and your area too.
