You can calculate theoretical top speed with a calculator like this:

I wonder what the top speed in the X5 is with a manual box and 4.10 gearing... Anybody know?
No matter the transmission the limiter is at 128 or 130mph (unless you've re-flashed the computer with performance software). At least that's how it was on my E36 & E46.

i have personally taken the E53 2002 4.6iS to the 140 MPH mark (based on speedometer, which is optimistic, in reality it had to be in the vicinity of 135 MPH) sustained for a couple of minutes.

The car felt totally planted on the road, the engine was working nice and smooth, i felt that there was more power available, but when my vision became "tunnel vision", I simply chickened out!!! besides, the road was NOT designed for those speeds, as i felt the side winds, and the up/down movements were much more pronounced than, say when you are going just at 70 MPH...

somewhere on the board is a u-boob link of our 3.0 5sp X'er rolling at 200kmh, ~125mph, to celebrate it's 123456.789th mile.. other than the camera blur, I can say it was a comfortable ride on conti snowflakes & 57's. I quit when I saw oncoming traffic again, so only 2 miles or so. My revs were in the hi 5's so couldn't be much more (IMHO) with wind resistance, etc.

4.10 here as well (grrrr).. short shift back-ordered to infinity(again MHO, sorry UUC), and 2.64 difs fell off the map of wishies for lack of confirmed sightings, lol.

I -briefly- considered top-speeding it, but it was 12º F and I was pretty sure traffic wouldn't cooperate (and I was right). I can't imagine how much road it would've taken to get the remaining mph, but if my e12 2.8 was any indication, it took 2km to get from 220 to 235kmh (racing a Ferrari at the time). It weighed ~3200lb.

yeah now were talking, beautiful machine.

ive always wanted a 1970 trans am white with blue interior, i would even settle for a 400
but 455 would be awesome.

every time my kids would ask for something and then complained when i told them they had to wait, i would say to them "do you know how long ive been waiting for my firebird"
that usually stoped them hehehe,

thanks for sharing

I forgot to mention that I ordered this supersprint exhaust direct from the Italy website instead of the us site and it was 1300$ shipped vs 2300$!!
