Changed radiator hose which leaked almost all the fluid out after a routine coolant flush (2 weeks after).

Dremeled it to fit (still perfecting it) but its very practical and now I can see my screen in direct sunlight
It fixes on top, with thin (invisible) strip of double sided tape.

Reasonably secured ,as long as you use a good quality 3M tape. Its 34 degrees C ,here and hasnt come off,yet !

Our OE Nav monitor is pointing upwards at about 25 degree angle,so any sun cover you get ,you will have to cut off from the sides ,about 25 degrees, for the cover to point forward, otherwise it will point straight up and it wont block any sun!

I am happy with the angle I cut which blocks 80% of sun,If I was to cut at 30 degrees or more, then from the driver /passenger sitting positions ,you wouldnt be able to see the top sdes of the screen!

A better alternative ,would be to remove monitor ,dismantle the back to access the tape drive motor, reverse the wires and alter the microswitch stop ,so that when you press the tape deck button, the monitor would now tilt forward!

For the price, I might buy this little eyebrow shade for the NAV screen and have a play to see what comes of it (one day when I'm bored...).

Finally got around to installing the interior LED's I purchased from eBay. Nice set, NOT from China, with each little bag clearly marked. Good communication from the seller, who included a couple of spares too: 18X BMW X5 E53 White LED Interior Lighting KIT | eBay
Installing the overhead console/map lights was a bit of a head f*#k but referring to my trusty Bentley manual I finally managed okay. Makes a huge difference to the interior illumination and I wonder now, why I didn't do this earlier.
