I noticed almost 3 months ago Bmw x5 that the engine temp barely ever made it to the first white mark on the blue gauge when is -12c to -30c . i took it to the mechanic they could not find the course , then i used diagnose tools , it was reading fault on lambda sensor , which i find out it was unplugged from the previous repair so i replug it , it was fault free. but yet the temp can barely make it to the blue in -12c to -25c even when i drive the car for 20 minutes, (what doesn't lambda sensor have to do with engine temp ?) I m really worry please help me, is really cold here in Greenland without this car i cant take my kids to school. thank for advance help

I agrre with 1stE53. Your T-stat had failed in open position. The X will drive fine but it is bad on mpg and internal parts as the engine will never reach normal operating temp.

Bought it two weeks ago. Have since done an oil change with castrol titanium 5w-30, oe oil filter, oe air filter, NGK plugs, new battery, and installed a sub.

I'm loving this x5!

My 9 months with my '04 4.4i sport was love/hate all the way. Love the ride, the handling, the power, the looks. Hate the ZF transmission. Even before it started slipping and doing the 2-1 slam, its goofy shift points were annoying. Whatever engineer thought plastic lower grilles, plastic mounts for the taillight circuit boards, plastic tabs on the lumbar support switch (and on and on) should have his butt kicked. Traded it yesterday on a Grand Cherokee and I'll never ever think about owning a BMW product again.
