Transmission fluid, filter and pan gasket changed. Replace gasket and output shaft seals for both transmission drive extension and transfercase. 7-8 hours job.

nah, it was a feeble attempt at a joke, when the weather hits it's pretty hard to do proper cleaning, and my 'finding' was that laser/touchless wash houses could not clean 'under' the Xer's roof spoiler, leaving a Real pretty stripe of nastiness, top of tail window, on an otherwise (thanx to maguire's) shiny X.

What indicated to me that the bushing were worn was when accelerated from a stop you could feel/here a clunk in the rear end, when you shifted you would also feel/here the clunk. My X5 in a manual, I think it would be more pronounced in a manual car. The more aggressive the acceleration the more louder the clunk. Looking at the bushing on the car they did not look worn. Once I lowered the subframe it was obvious, each of them were in two pieces.

Oil change on the 4.4i and found the mystery coolant leak. When I replaced the V-pan gasket it looks like I didn't snug up the hose to the rear coolant manifold enough.

Then a wash for both Xs! :-)

Tomorrow going to have to clean out the inside as the kids keep creating quite the mess in there.....

Diffs fluid change, T-Case fluid change, New A-Eyes globe, Some new temp switches, New water-pump and replaced the pulley which was damaged.

Got AC fixed finally - was re-gassed - indy said it was filled with air??!!

I had taken it to dealer a while back and they performed some deodorising of my AC with out asking me, then when I got it back AC didn't work....I argued and argued and they wouldn't fess up, even though they practically robbed me! Indy said it was lucky the system didn't blow as it was under a lot of pressure.
Last time I go a stealer!! Big waste of time & money
