Hey Slick, per his instructions, you should not grease anything, it's supposed to run dry.

Phew. Found a spot that still carries my 315 tire...turns out michelin stopped making it sometime last year. Guess I'm going to have to triple check the production code when I swing by to pick it up...

I have Michellin Latitude Tour HP and I got a nail in sidewall last summer after just buying it months before. I was sooooo pissed, but as I was waiting for my wife with wheel keys (first time I ever left key at home 3 hours away in my garage), I found a website that DID have stock of the rear 315 wide tire. I got a call the tire was last in stock in Canada apparently. I was soooo lucky to get it. but at a premium. $615. Glad you had good luck as well

Had Indy replace my mechatronics seal, 4 valve body seals and tranny fluid drain fill, new tranny filter, new transfer case fluid, new front and rear diff fluids, oil change, two front wheel bearings and cv boot replacements, brake fluid flush. all in it cost $2,250 CAD. I performed the long tranny break in procedure myself (thanks to my local bretheren Doru and Florin for compiling the info and purpose) and i think it helped a bunch. I could have performed a lot of this myself but time has been tight and i just wanted it done

Oh and finally got around to installing the new Delphi fuel pump last night since I received my fancy fuel ring removal tool. worked perfectly!!!!! And I'm sure this is all in my head, but the new Delphi pump (which is physically smaller) seems to start the X5 faster and pedal response seemed quicker. Original one still worked perfect at 205k kms but why not replace it since I've seen some "stranded" posts on here lately.
This new Delphi pump is a newer, slightly different looking pump. install took 1.5 hours, so not bad at all and in that time I vacuumed and took the time to undo some fasteners holding the black rubber down, instead of ripping the black rubber under seats, over metal frame so I could bend the black rubber back without damage.
I still have the original pump incase this new one craps out for some reason. it sucks when you keep a good usable old part just as a back-up part... I've got no storage space left on my shelves in garage.

I got a fuel pump that got a burned contact and it died. Got an OE from a dealer for about $325, installed myself - instead of special tool, used a piece of wood and rubber mallet... Got it done in the middle of night, as in the morning she had to go to work... lol...

Now I need to find time to check with the BMW NA about that recall...

So on the 3rd year post warranty expiration, I sorta knew anything I was doing for the truck was going to outweigh the ~market cost~. LOL, 14 years later and for this week, got the BBK repowdercoated, VCG, couple of hoses and the waterpump. Last week, got one fresh tire and this weekend, another fresh tire going on.

I'm hoping that's it for 2017. Hoping is the key word
