I was just going to post that I parked the X5 for a couple of days while I sent my RF wheel out the have some curb rash removed and a bit of a dent, (out of roundness), removed....Then I saw this. I don't know who actually did my repair, (my local Indy shop sent the wheel out for me), but it came back like new, (same rim you got there). Overall cost including refinishing, shop labor to remove/reinstall tire, rebalancing, etc. was $230. Car rides much smoother now that the dent is out of the RF wheel.

Since you mentioned you were in Westchester, it's pretty local to me..so send me a PM if you want a good place to send out the wheel. Another option is Hubcap Haven, that will sell you a refinished wheel for $249.95. But you need to speek to them before ordering to determine if they are sending you a refinished wheel or a new knockoff, (if you care). I've gotten wheels from them and they have always looked like new from a dealer.

I changed the oil on it today... Started off by making a bit of a mess by having the drain pan under the drain plug instead of a foot or so to the right side of the vehicle; that stuff shot out of there like it was under pressure! That's not a mistake I'll make again.

Then I went to remove the oil filter, and do you think I've got a 36mm socket or wrench around? Nope. I tried a 12" Crescent Wrench on it, but it was on there pretty snug, and with the angle it was hitting the cap, I didn't want to end up dinging up the plastic by pushing too hard. So I ran around, hitting three stores before finding a socket that would fit (and wouldn't cost $30.) Got a cheapo 1 7/16" socket for $8.

I also discovered that the filter can kinda go in the wrong way, but then you can't tighten the cap properly. Note to self (and anybody else listening): if the filter doesn't slide onto the housing easily and snap into position at the end of its travel, you've probably got it on backwards. Flip it around.

Ordered some extended bolts from ECS. I have 12 & 15mm spacers sitting in the basement from the E46's so I'm gonna space out my rears a bit.

Looks awesome. I'll be happy with my exterior once I get a skid plate. And a drop. And flares. And 87's. lol
