It goes to show you, you can get a lemon with any make. I had three other BMW's that had no problems at all. This is my 6th Lexus and I haven't had any real problems with any of them. I always get a loaner when I take my car in. Craig |

See that's the beauty of the Funf Dreisig AG "fookin light' Repair Kit for Dummies.
After trillions of picoseconds of online research, our geeky gnomes have determined that the vast majority of current BMW owners don't want to be bothered with determining the actual cause of the CEL light illumination. And they get seriously grumpy when they discover that getting the light to turn off, will require a trip to their dealer, where they will almost certainly be told a tall tale that would make Paul Bunyan blush. They simply find the CEL light annoying and want it to stop cluttering up their dash display -- now. That is why we developed the unique, no-hassle, instant-gratification Funf Dreisig AG "fookin light' Repair Kit for Dummies. Just place a small snip of the black-as-sin, carbon-fiber duck tape over the offending 'fookin light'* and drive on with confidence that you will never be bothered by that 'fookin light' again ![]() Funf Dreisg AG * this extremely versatile product fits every 'fookin light' on ANY BMW dash. Case discounts are available.

The light is gone. Maybe it needed time to reset? Either that or the light bulb died from being on so much

If the 'fault' that caused the initial code is gone for a certain number of starts, the light will turn off. The code is still held in memory as a history, but with no 'present code' the light will be off.
My wife just reported ours came on...I'll pull the code when I get back into town and then figure out if I need to see the dealer. 9700 miles. Oil service in a week anyway so it can wait.... A |

![]() When I shut her off this morning, the oil warning lamp came on. I got back in and started up about 20 minutes later and the light was gone. Systems and oil all showing OK ![]() I made an appointment for next week.
