Weeeel.... guess what... I believe I found the problem... or at least narrowed it down significantly enough to rule out any Bluetooth role and thus confirmed that this whole story spun by both NA and the dealer is complete malarky.

I have been driving for about a week now w/1st just the phone BT turned on, then using a BT headset, and now for the past two days having the phone actually paired to the car and using it w/the car. I have to admit though that I did have a moment where I thought my battle was lost... but this was luckily just few minutes before I realized what most likely has happened and my hypothesis has so far proved itself to be true.

The problem is related to the phone, but only indirectly. It appears to be somehow caused by the car charger or the 12V socket or the phone charging plug and/or the amp in the car or some audio wiring having a short.

The way I relized this and have been testing this was when I 1st re-enabled the BT transceiver in the phone just to see if this has any impact on the cutting out I also plugged the phone into the car charger for the 1st time in a week. Normally this would completely just not even click in my mind as being related, but somehow the sound cut out very soon afterwards... So for some reason the act of hooking up the phone to the charger, or some vibration while the phone was connected causes the audio amp to short and probably the thing just shuts itself off to save itself from getting fried.

I have been using BT ever since in all its forms in the car up to and including pairing and normal usage of the phone w/the car but w/out connectiong the phone to the charger. And voila! All is well...

Luckily... I have another identical charger for my wife's phone which I will need to try our to see if I get the same effects with. The whole thing could be as simple as using a different charger. Of course this still is disturbing because if the short is in my charger or the phone, why would it affect the audio amp unless it also has a short...

Another week, another battery of tests!
