You are definitely out of date. You can torrent some of the daten files but they are large. MAKE SURE YOU GET THE FULL VERSIONS! It saves you a lot of hassle. And if my memory serves me correctly, you have to update one version at a time. ie. v41 -> v42 ->v43... You can't go directly from v41 -> v47 or else things get lost in translation. (at least that was what i was taught anyway). Hopefully someone chimes in soon.

It was a real pain in the neck for me to update to the current version. It got to a point where 80% of the modules can be coded, and then the rest, you were required to find missing files and replace them with the newer version.

hello. i just had some remote coding done. i had the m-hud enabled and now i can only program one of my steering wheel buttons. my whole settings menu is different. i have a mdrive option, etc. can anyone tell me if its possible to just add the mhud without messing up the other settings and losing the diamond button functionality?

No, it's not possible.

MHUD = 1 programmable button
non-MHUD = 2 programmable buttons

That's why I went back to non-MHUD. You can't have navi info on with MHUD either, which is another drawback.

Note: You can uncheck MHUD in the options, which reverts back to the non-MHUD style. However, since the option is still coded in, you still only retain 1 programmable button. The only way to get back to 2 programmable buttons is to re-code and remove the options that provide MHUD.

thanks for the responses fellas. i thought it looked pretty cool and would be a cool feature, but.... i could hardlly sleep last night wondering what else has been inactivated from my coding session. im waiting for the guy to get back to me to change it back. i downloaded bmw standard tools and started following the steps to do it myself, but chickened out. that bmw coding forum has diy directions all scattered around. i need a step by step to just change it back.

I've coded a lot of different options into mine. The MHUD deal is the most invasive one. Nothing else drastically changes iDrive options like that one does. Rest easy.

FYI. I messed around with upgrades for a while then eventually just deleted everything. Just installed v47 and it worked great.

Hello BlueDragon and all!
Being new to these forums as a first time BMW owner I've read this entire thread with great interest. Bought my wife a '12 X5 50i in July and was so jealous of her ride every time I got to drive it I got a '13 X5 50i for my self a few weeks ago. As far as I can tell all this coding should be compatible with her '12, but does any one of you know if my '13 can be done as well?
Also, is there anyone out there in the greater Los Angeles area that is experienced in doing this and interested in making a few shekels in the process?
Cheers!

Do you have a link to the daten files ?

Also how do you do DVD in motion on CCC? I didn't think that was possible!
