The Coding pack only includes v47.1 for E89. There is another torrent with just daten files and has folders for multiple chassis including E70

It's well packaged with the software and DIY guides. In the comments they also include a link to and another torrent with the latest Daten v47.1
ok I downloaded both BMW Coding Tool Pack and the latest Daten v47.1 and loaded all the software on my laptop. except for having to download and register a couple of .ocx windows files, everything went smoothly.

Now, I'm just waiting for the cable to get here and I can try coding.

Thanks for this tip! This package definitely looks like it's gonna work, well packaged and everything explained.

Ok, I didn't install the software from that Russian site, I ended up following digdesign's tip and got the BMW Coding Tool Pack and the latest Daten v47.1 from torrents. This seems to have everything we need.

X5 / E70 Successfully Coded - Melbourne Australia

I have successfully coded my 10/2012 Manufacture MY13 X5!!

The bits I have coded are
1. The iDrive Disclaimer
2. DVD in motion (CIC)
3. Wiper to complete swiping when vehicle is switched off
4. Closing the Tailgate with the internal button (Opening and closing tailgate was available with key fob when I bought the car)
5. Folding Mirrors on pressing button on key fob. (Opening and closing windows and sunroof available with key fob when I bought the car)

I wanted to set the Fog Lights to "on" when Headlights were switched on, but I found that this was already activated.

I have had my car for just under 2 weeks....

I would like to thank Mark From Tampa who patiently explained and helped me get started. I would also like to thank Chris from BM Technic in the UK, whose Cable, Software and assistance was all it took....I do not have any vested interest in BM Technic, but Chris' cables and software is ALL YOU NEED!!!

just out of curiosity if i were to code an option that i may not have like opening/closing the tailgate from key fob.
what would happen? i'm assuming nothing but just want to be safe.

You will have the Tailgate open and close from key fob!! That is all!!

I just traded in my '07 X5 and I didnt have the auto open tailgate feature. I am guessing, that the motor to open and close is not present...therefore, "coding" is irrelevant....there are several more knowledgeable people on here than me....perhaps they might chip in too?

So this thread had me looking into doing some coding. Here is the list of things I have found that I want to do so far.

Double Blink Hazards
Remote trunk close
Disable iDrive Disclaimer
Remove IDrive warning when starting the car
Complete wiper cycle
Angel eyes brighter
Seat Belt Chime for Driver disable

Couple of other things I was wondering about though.

Can the passenger side seat-belt warning be disabled? (Annoying when laptop bag sets it off )

Can you have fog-lights always on when low-beams are on? (auto or switch, again annoying having to turn on separately)

Can you disable the directional fog-light turn indicator? (Dumbest thing ever, looks like one is burned out whenever you turn )
