How is the D1S bulb held on? On the pre LCI, there is a wire that acts like a spring clamp like this

On the LCI headlight, it just looks like this, am I missing something?

How long would it take start to finish swapping lights from a 2012 lci to a 2009 non lci then the old ones out of the 2009 back into 2012. Would any software updates etc be needed or just the physical parts?

Dont know where to start
it take like 4 hours to swap lights on one vehicle, as far as coding you will have to swap FRM modules too, so you will have to code each FRM for work with the new vehicle (write Vin/ via coding etc)

How much would this cost for both of the coding? I'm planning on doing this with my friends 2012 LCI before he trades it in...

Are ALL parts for this reverse compatible?

^^ Found the FRM3 from Morristown BMW for $260. Waaay cheaper than Tischer (getbmwparts.com). I don't know whats happening over there, but their prices have been steadily creeping up.
