I have the parts to do this, complete headlights and a new FRM3, but I'm not sure that I will do it. I may have a line up on a nice Cayenne Diesel.

Ah what the heck, I had some free time on Saturday, so I did it. The bracket that is below the headlights is a major pain in the ass to remove and put back in. Otherwise, you need a plastic rivet tool, an 8mm and 10mm socket and some torx heads for the removal and install.

Big thanks to Okee ([email protected]) for the guidance with WINKFP. I had it setup, but I had to write the vin to the new FRM3, and I hadn't used it a lot before. After writing the vin to the FRM3, use NCSExpert to write the FA to the FRM3 using the expert profile (FA Write is the job). The I used SG Coderein to default the new FRM using the expert profile. Then use a profile that allows manipulation to modify the date to #0411 and code the FRM3, and also to code things like fog lights on with high beams, double blink, etc

So after driving tonight, the headlights are aimed too low. I found this

BMW Workshop Manuals > X Series E70 X5 3.0d (M57T2) OFFRD > 2 Repair Instructions > 63 Lights > 10 Lamp Settings > 1 RA Test Requirements For Headlight Vertical Aim Adjustment

Do you know where the aiming screws are?

^^ Yes, they are the actual LEDs with massive heat sinks built into the casing.

Thanks for the post Delviac.....
I'll see if I can adjust them tonight
