With all the questions, you're prbly regretting posting your new headlights no doubt... so MY TURN!

I've purchased the LCI headlamps off eBay but didn't realize the extent sellers strip down the modules, etc., to sell them separately. You mentioned 3 part numbers I need to buy for my pre-LCI (2010), so am I correct to assume I already have the others parts displayed in the link below? Much confusion on which parts are needed.

Are the later versions backward compatible? i.e. can I replace the failed module from my 12/2009 with 04/2012 or whatever the nearest dealer has?

P.S. Not sure what exactly caused it, but I had the battery disconnected as a safety precaution while fixing backup camera, and now get "Lighting System" error that doesn't allow car to move as it thinks the driver door is open (plus a myriad of other things not working).
Rheingold test says FRM isn't responding, so I assume it's shot.

You should be able to. I'm running the one highlighted in red on my '09. I had to code the vin, and the code it with my FA.

I'd try to reset your existing FRM first though. Test it with INPA, and see if you can revive it using NCSExpert, or tool32.

So did you have to purchase a new FRM3 or were you able to get your 2009 FRM to work via coding? Also, do the headlamps drop out from underneath the car (i.e. after removing frame, etc.)? Gonna give this a try this coming weekend.

They come out through the wheel wells, after removing the liner, the lower headlight support bracket etc

A question for anyone who's purchased the LCI headlamps piecemeal. Each headlamp takes 2 LED Diodes. The part numbers for the LED diodes are all the same. Yet only one of the headlamp slots where the diodes fit have the 2 wires to connect to the LED diodes. Specifically, the diode slot closest to the turn signal lamp has one wire with a red connector and one with a white connector protruding from the slot. The diode slot in the headlamp furthest from the turn signal has no wires protruding from the slot. However I believe I've found the wire with red connector inside the headlamp.
Does anyone know if the other LED diode requires 2 wires? Most interesting is that ALL the pics on eBay have at least one of the 2 wires missing.
Thanks in advance.
