Supposedly 552 is an all-in-one for the bi-xenon and the adaptive on the LCIs. PreLCI has 522 for xenon and 524 for the adaptive as I understand.

I saw in another forum a similar question and the response was that 552 is for the X5M. Then again, I saw somewhere else where it said to replace 522/524 with the 552. Neither way is working for me right now though.

There is one code that is for the Full LED headlights, make sure you don't use that one

Bringing this back from the dead....

I just did the LCI headlight retrofit. I'm having some issue with the FRM3 not coming online. The FRM3 I got used from eBay. When installed it displays lots of error code on idrive...low beam, high beam, fog lamp, flasher all malfunction. Even my windows won't go down and backup cam shows error. when swapped out with the original FRM2 only DRL error came on everything else working. and the LED halo would flicker.

So my question to all of you that had successfully did the retrofit...when u installed the FRM3 does it display all those error code? Or its possible the FRM3 module I have is faulty? When trying to write vin the the FRM3 it says ECU not responding.

My truck is an early 2007 (02/07) E70 with factory xenon and adaptive headlight.

Thanks in advance

blue dragon will become famous soon enough
I used a new FRM3, and I had no issues with it not responding. What are you using to write the vin to it? If you are using winkfp, did you set it up properly?

Agreed. Based on the error codes, either the FRM3 needs to be flashed or its just not working. When it comes to flashing modules, I always go to an indie shop. I never spent the money to buy a good size battery charger to ensure steady voltage during the flashing. Any BMW shop should be able to handle since no coding is involved. The coding begins afterward.

Yes I'm using WinKfp. It shows 0.0v on the screen. So I don't think it's even powering on. Hopefully it's just the settings on winkfp. Blue dragon do u mind sharing your settings? I'll give it another try today and if no dice then probably the Ecu nothing working.
