I just got a Pearl, and I imported all of my contacts from my Palm. I had alpha characters and other junk in my phone number fields, and I am pretty sure that this caused the car to drop the connection to the phone during the address book transfer. It worked fine when I turned off my address book transfer on the Pearl. The Blackberry worked great after I did a laborious contact database cleanup.
hi brian,
my car never picks up the phone, never asks for the pk number, so it doesn't even get to the point of contacts tranfer. that happens after the car picks up the phone, which is not happening in my case.

i have seen one case where someone in germany with a 530xd 2006 and dvd navigation idrive system has been able to connect. and another person here i'm trying to find out their system specs.
