connecting nokia e61 to bmw bluetooth with navigation

5. Your phone will probably then ask for a confirmation and then prompt you for the BT passcode.
6. Enter the passcode printed on the car's Bluetooth module.
7. The phone may then ask you for a confirmation to accept a BT connect to the car, after you enter the passcode. If so, try to select a "YES" or "NEVER ASK AGAIN" option on the phone.
7. The car will beep once to indicate that it has paired with your phone. And, the car will remain in pairing mode so that you can pair other phones, if you wish.
8. After you have paired the phone, turn off the ignition.
9. The ignition back on, and within about 30 seconds, the phone should indicate that it has connected with the car.

sorry brian it's ALL different for the z4 m coupe. we don't have to push any buttons; we dont have a cradle nor a pairing button. and we are NOT supposed to use the so called streering wheel pairnig button as u saaid it above also...our model is supposed to enter pairing mode automatically as sooon as u turn to position 2 on the ignition. and i have seen this method pair other phones.

the key in position 2 autostarts the BT discovery mode....a bit weird i know. i haven't been able to find any official documentation on our system (e86M nav/premium). even the docs that came with the car are not for our specific model, bur rather for the regular z4 and roadster. it sucks. on top of that i'm using an unapproved phone, but the same phone is paring for some people, just not most of us with the nokia e61.
other than that this is what i do...

turn key to position 2, put navigation system on phone section, the nav screen indicates "Phone Searching" or something like that, but NEVER the word 'pairing' appears at anytime, and i've heard it's not supposed to on our model....then i put my nokia to search for bluetooth. the nokia finds the bmw BT, i tell the phone to pair. it pairs and and asks (and this is on the phone) for the Passkey. i enter the PK in the phone. it accepts it and asks for auto authorization, i say yes. in the meantime the car's nav screen still states "Phone searching..." then i go into the phone's BT options and ask it to connect (ie establish data transfer), then it fails to connect. in the meantime couple of minutes have passed by and the car's nav screen message has changed to "Activate Phone" which i assume means the car has stopped looking for any BT devices because for a couple of minutes it couldnot find any.

I've tried pairing the nokia e61 with the older firmware as well as the recent update to version 2 of the firmware.
and for the record here are my phone settings:
Bluetooth: ON
Visibility: Shown to all
phone name: name
Remote Sim Mode: Off (but i've also tried it with ON)

I would like to learn if an unapproved phone is able to work with an e60 MOST system, will there be any corrolation to expect it or tweak something to make it also work under an e86 iBus system?

the phone is a nokia e61 which has been documented to work (even though it's not approved) on an e60 530xd which has the new MOST and CAN-Bus system. However the new z4 M coupe is based on the e46 and the i-Bus system.

is there any way to expect the nokia e61 to work on the e86 M (z4 coupe) if it works on the e60 bmw?
