I told TwinsPoppa to get a hold of you, so you may already have one buyer for your $100 offering.

The pioneer sounds great btw. Hits very solid and clean. You forget sometimes there's only 1 little woofer in there. At the same time, its not to that point where passengers ( mainly the ladies) are annoyed by it. They hardly even notice it. Just a good solid hit.

I do however want to do add the other one I have if no one takes it. Since my amp is too powerful for just the one sub, I'm thinking I might craft a custom fit for the spare tire well. I'm picking up style 87's tomorrow or sunday (aka Man-day down here), and won't have a spare. Theres good space in there, and a lot of little compartments and contours that would make it a tight fit.

Have 2 more boxes to finish up today, will upload pictures, then maybe whip something up really quick.

James, did you poly-fill your box?

I considered doing the same thing, but I have that thick and heavy sliding loadfloor...and I actually use it. 99% of the time I don't keep the spare tire back there, but it probably would get terribly muffled from that floor. I've been thinking about making another enclosure for the left side since I don't have DSP or stock navi. I've seen pics in this thread where poeple had a right hand enclosure that didn't go into the subfloor and were still happy with it, and since it's the same space in the left side, that would just compliment the box on the right side. That would mean custom fiberglass work though, above and beyond what I learned making my current enclosure...we'll see if I ever do it.

NP - hopefully he writes you soon, otherwise I'm sure someone else will jump on it.

The stock enclosure came with a couple 8x11's sheets of polyfill in there already, so I used those and then added about half a bag throughout, but I'm not sure how to tune stereos at all, so I don't know if it's causing me more harm than good. I took it to a stereo store and asked one of the guys to adjust my settings for me, but it didn't really make any major differences. Certain songs sound great, but others require turning down the bass knob to stop distortion or wierd notes that the subwoofer can't handle. I'd really love to hear someone elses setup in person sometime, but I don't know if that'll ever happen considering the small population of BMW owners in Boise, let alone those with X5's who want sub enclosures.

K, so here are a couple pictures of one of the boxes I've just finished.
I have another one, assembled, ready to be shipped if anyone is interested. I also have an extra 10'' pioneer for sale, which is the same exact set up I'm using, and its simply amazing.
The box is $100, with the sub $150.

$100 is really not that bad, considering that it takes about two whole days to finish just one box.

If you weren't on the other side of the US, I'd almost say ship me one so I can try it for myself with the Pioneer shallow so I can compare the two. How much polyfill did you use and what are you powering it with? I'm running an MTX JH300.

FYI - If you're looking to make a hair more room, I removed my fuel door locking mechanism and it's bracket, that way you can avoid that extra indentation on the back.
