Thanks! That's exactly what happened here. One trip and they showed up. Makes absolutly no sense to me, but hey... it works.

I have a quick question.... Do you have to upgrade from V26 to V27 or can you jump from V25 to V27??

Thanks

There shouldn't be any issue with going directly from V25 to v27

You must go into the Set menu (so you can see the Volume, brightness, split-screen etc.) then hold the Menu key for 8 secs.

Once in the service menu you will see things like telematics/GPS, etc. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and onto a new page. Perspective mode is listed there. Switch it on.

Go back into GPS Navigation. With the map view on screen, bring up the Map Positioning Menu, choose from Pointing North, Direction of Travel or Perspective View.

Strange Post-Upgrade Behavior

This is very strange. I upgraded from V26 to V27 (standard) with no issues. Then, I followed the instructions in another post here to put my own custom splash screen in V27. The only change I made was to extract/replace the original .gif with one of the many images posted on this board. I then cut a new "Custom V27" CD, using the exact same image from the previous upgrade.

I then went to the vehicle and downgraded to V26, then upgraded to V27. Afterwards, the "accept" screen is gone and all distances are in yards, instead of feet.

I'm happy that the "accept" screen is gone and all seems well, but are there any other changes that might get me in trouble at the dealership when I take it in for service?

Why would changing the splash screen cause the unit to switch to euro mode, when the image was otherwise identical to the non-custom version?

Thanks.

It appears that 'downgrading' to a previous version (V26 to V25, V27 to V26) seems to put the Nav back into a Default OEM mode. There were comments that it was only the V26.09A that caused this, but people seem to be reporting this after any downgrade - usually discovered when they want to do as you have done - put on a custom screen.

Back to the dealer for a recode it seems.
