Oh well...
What that means is that BMW NA won't pay the dealer to do that if the customer asks for it becuase technically, what is the dealer really fixing?

When I had still the version V26, I did not have this problem. Have you a solution?

Thinking back I may have this problem as well, I have only used the car twice since upgrading and both times it wouldn't read the disc. I just put this down to a dirty disc and removed it, cleaned it and replaced it. Hence could be the same symptoms. Any one else had this ?

Yeah the intergration of traffic info into the Navi is the best. That requires that government take a lead. Most Republicans consider that to be "interference" in the marketplace. Assholes!

This is very biased towards NA, any release notes for Europe?

Just upgraded to V27 today

I decided to upgrade from V26 to V27 today. My older OS version didn't have the perspective option so I decided to check V27. I become a member of this great site and decided to download the version the Jeff had uploaded for the premium members. It also included a customized startup screen. I burned a copy of the CD and follow-up the installation steps to a T. Once the nav computer rebooted, my personalized startup screen came up without any problems. I also activated the perspective view by going to the service menu. I then took a drive around the area and inserted a destination to make sure my ETA and mpg info was working. I was using a Navtec 2004.2 DVD in my computer. The only problem I ran into was that my personalized startup screen wasn't coming up anymore when I would open the driver's side door.

I disconnected the battery for a couple of minutes and the start-up screen started working perfectly. Everything else (BT, Aux Fan, TV, ect.) works without a hitch.

I posted some pictures of my new screen setup. The guys on X5 World did a fantastic job on the customized versions of V27. The annual membership it worth its weight in gold. I don't have a X5 (have an 01 E39) but this site is very informative. Good Work to Jeff and the rest of the X5 Word crew.

Glen,

With respect to the start-up splash screen, that only comes up when you first enter the vehicle and won't come up again until you turn the vehicle off and let it sit about 15 to 20 minutes (the i-bus needs to go into "sleep" mode).

Thanks for the feedback, and for joining the ranks of the Premier Members. Check your PM for another bit if information as well that I think you'll appreciate.

Jeff

Well, if this dont beat all...

I used the exact same CD to upgrade the wife's 05 X3 and at the end I got a message that there was an error. It ejected the disc and asked to confirm with OK. I put in a v26 disc that upgrade worked fine. However, now the car is in metric mode. How do I switch it back?
